We’re embarking on a new, collective and collaborative journey by participating in The Sketchbook Project. What is our plan? For starters, we’ll invite artists and illustrators, storytellers and story-dwellers, designers and doodlers to each fill one (or two) page(s) of the sketchbook.
A GLOBAL ART PROJECT
Your work will be submitted to the world’s largest collection of sketchbooks where it will reside in Brooklyn Art Library’s permanent collection, travel to exhibitions across the country and become part of a massive worldwide community of creative people. Anyone – from anywhere in the world – can be a part of the project.
The 2018 challenge evolves around the themes of

We’d like to bring some of Maastricht’s finest creative forces, and of the southern region of the Netherlands, to the Brooklyn library which as you may know, is the Anglicized name for the Dutch city of Breukelen. There’s a lot of Dutch history in New York! So let’s add something new to the mix!
